MOTHER'S DAY - ENOUGH ALREADY!

MOTHER'S DAY– enough already!

It doesn't matter what day is being toasted, they're all about the merchant filling your house, or tent, with their frivolous merchandise for which you have no real need, and/or will wilt and become decomposed radiance in a matter of days. That box of chocolates has an inflated price tag because on it is written “For You Mother.” Know too that the inflated price tag will inflate your chances of becoming a diabetic as well as escalate your weight. In truth Mother's Day as well as Father's Day have become an irritant due to the fact that they are a hoax. Yes, maybe 2 percent of you parental icons can honestly say that you're great parents, but when examining the truth found in our prisons, juvenile detention centers, women's shelters, schools, etc., that grow increasingly stressed due to our population inflation, one must conclude that we the people are lousy parents at best!

It's not a great feat to have a child. It's commonly referenced as repeated acts of sexual intercourse. Yes, granted, there are some women and men that are unable to surmount this reproductive performance, but pretty much that's all it is; reproduction. And in the majority of cases it's not a pretty sight after the child is born.

Cute as they are, babies often die at the hands of their mothers and/or fathers. Remember the catch phrase to deter this action, “don't shake the baby”? Heroine babies, cocaine babies, alcohol dependent babies, and other addictions of the parents are born into the new life only to plague the classrooms where these children are often forced into detention centers, because they are incapable of playing well with others. Let me qualify this right here and now; this staggering reality is not limited to the poor – the wealthy have no problem affording these drug and alcohol habits. Likewise the wealthy are not archetypes of parental perfection. A few well-loved wealthy movie stars immediately come to mind along with some notable political and corporate figures. Child abuse is NOT restricted to any monetary class.

Then there's the big one; child sexual abuse by parents or other family members. It's VERY real, and for the child it is a nightmare that, more often than not, turns into crime and/or addictions. It is what my novels attempt to resolve through a methodic system of re-thinking our logic and displaying this new thinking through our actions; in order to build a more perfect union. Just recently a couple in the State of “paradise” was arrested for selling their 2 children on line for sexual favors. NICE! Unfortunately it is not an isolated case.

In another area of “paradise, on the southernmost point I attended a christening – or better still “a sacrifice” – of a baby girl. After the ceremony of the blessing of oil and water the black attired holy person left, the baby's diaper was ceremoniously eliminated, and grandpa proceeded to tongue the little infant girl's vagina. Wait it gets better. After all, the virginity pleasure can't be isolated to just grandpa, so all the other “adult” male family members got their turn as well. When it was clear I was not only appalled but ready to call the police the mother playfully nudged me and said, “It's good for her. See, she likes it.” When I did report it, the county rep asked what nationality they were.

“What does that have to do with anything?” frustration retorted.

“It might be part of their culture,” was the horrific response.

Oh, of course, what a fool I was to not consider nationality/ethnicity!

Then there's the little issue of over population. “Human, that species that lays claim to being singular for its ability to think and reason appears to be oblivious to the fact that She (Earth) is but a closed finite system, with a surface area of 510 million square kilometers. Less than a third of that number represents land, and 25 million square kilometers of that third represents the poles and sea ice; thus far only penguins, polar bears, seals, whales and walruses are satisfied with those climates. Imagine selfish humans amassed in droves planting a beach umbrella in Antarctica or the Arctic; or putting down roots! Currently we are building ski-slopes out of mountains of our garbage. On Stock Island, an island just over the bridge from Key West, is a mountain referenced by locals as Mount Trashmore. It's right on the ocean so all the toxins can seep directly into the sea. Next door to Trashmore is a hospital, a community college, and elementary school and a senior center. When I lived there, the children from this elementary school had the highest rate of absences due to illness. (The big secret was their leukemia and cancer rates. SHHHH it's a secret. Don't tell.) But then everyone knows the old cliché; build a toxic dump and set your children free.

Let's make a new holiday and delete mother's and father's days. Let's honor those who refrain from abuse of the Earth, our home, and abuse of one another especially our children; our legacy. And instead of purchasing useless merchandise to honor these individuals, - because such actions only serve to exacerbate pollution of our real mother, Earth, - let's learn from them how they mastered the art of being humane.
